We're back and how nice it is to. Judging by the amount of emails we were missed, going away is nice but it takes so long to catch up when you return. Downloading all the emails never mind going through them all and replying but nearly done.

Before I left I really meant to mention some great new software that I have been testing out. I am sure most of you know by now that my main interest is in grabbing as much of the free money offered by the multitude of bookmakers along with the arbs that can be found along the way. However I also trade the horse racing markets pre-off (and sometimes football (or soccer!) in-play). One of the software packages I currently use is Gruss Betting Assistant and this lead me to The Staking Machine. I have only had a brief use of it but I really like what I have seen so far. The software allows you to pull in all the past results of tipsters from Racing Index (maybe try Smoker's Tips ;)) and see how they would fair using many of the common and some not so common staking methods. You can of course use your own data to. Great for testing out different staking methods on systems you are already running or tipsters you are interested in using.

One part of the software I haven't looked at but have our resident reviewer testing at the moment, is the ability of the The Staking Machine to automate the betting of your systems using the chosen staking method you wish to use. To do this you will need Gruss Betting Assistant and Excel. Just imagine the possibilities though, winning strategy using your chosen staking method all run automatically by your PC while you sit by your pool in the sun :).
